From out of town and had to stop for ice cream as this was a place my husband used to visit regularly when he was younger and lived in the area. I had to try the grape soft serve and that was something I've never had before. The cashier was extremely pleasant (wish I had gotten a name).
Need to look up the name of this unusual and wonderful sandwich - loved it! Nice folks working there also. It's been there since the 1960s!
I've passed this place several times on my way to Oxford. Figured I'd finally give them a try and boy was it good. It's definitely got an old school look and feel to it. But the food is really good. Plus all the people working behind the counter were super nice and easy to deal with. Not a bad place to stop if you're coming or going in the area. I'd recommend it.
Amazing place, like going back in time to an old drive in from the 50s. 5 stars all around.
Seriously a hidden gem. Food is extremely reasonably priced, and the best burger and BBQ pork sandwiches my husband and I have ever had. Cost us 24 with sweet tea and super good fries, which is amazing for how much food and how good it was. My sandwich had so much shredded meat, I was able to make an entire second sandwich later with what fell out.
Thursday, January 25, 2024 Everything was good, and I would recommend stopping here. I got the Chuck Special combo. This was a burger with fries and drink. Everything was seasoned well also. Their house-made ranch is good! Their seasoning are pepper forward but I like it. I really do not have anything bad to say about this place although this was my first time. I got there a little after 11am. Lunch had not picked up yet. This may be the type of place where people call in and take their orders to go though. There is little sitting inside at a bar type area and sitting outside only if weather permits. There is a lot of sitting outside. Can’t wait to stop back by and try their ice cream/milkshakes. I hear they are good. They also take cards. I was worried by the looks of the building they may only be a cash only but they are not.
The employees were raised right. Very courteous, very respectful. Young ladies raised right. It’s good to see southern hospitality is still alive. The nostalgia of this place was great
This place is AWESOME! Ithas been around from the good old days and has the food to match! Totally worth going just to say you did. Worth a side trip just to say you were there. I hope the place stays just the way it is for many years to come.
